Study Jams and Tutpup

Recently a group of colleagues met at our school to re-vamp our netbook vision.  During this visit, we were fortunate to have Susan Mackey visit with us from our District Office.  Susan had come across some “new to me” websites that sparked my interest.

The first site was Study Jams.  This is a scholastic site that hosts many video explanations and quizzes in the area of Mathematics and Science.  http://studyjams.scholastic.com/studyjams/index.htm

Tutpup is a site where students can compete in fun, educational games against other kids from all over the World in the area of Mathematics and Spelling!

Check them out when you have a moment.  You may find some real gems at these sites.

About musingsofamathteacher

I am presently employed at New Sarepta Elementary School as a grade five teacher. During my career I have taught Grades 12 - 2. The past three years I was fortunate to work part-time as Math Lead for my school district, Black Gold Regional Schools, and have just recently accepted a part-time secondment with Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium. I have always had a passion for mathematics and am excited about implementing Alberta's "new" mathematics curriculum.
