Math Contests

Sumdog is one of the more recent contests I have had my students participate in.  The great thing with this site is that they run several contests through-out the year.  It is a really easy sign-up and easy to set-up classes.

A second contest that I have my class participate in is World Maths Day.  World Maths Day is running every second year now.  Check out the link below:

Canadian Mathematics Society has yet to update their 2015 info…but keep watch at this address under events:

My students have also participated in the contest from the Canadian National Mathematics League based at the University of Windsor.

Math League Contest:  This contest has participants from the United States of America and Canada.  Please check out the link below for more information.

  1. Just a reminder that if you are interested in participating in World Maths Day registration is open. The contest will take place on March 1, 2011, but be careful…depending on where you live it could actually begin on February 28th, 2011 .

    A fun competition to enter with your class would be the Sigma Scholars competition from the Worldwide Center of Mathematics – http://www.centerofmath.org/sigmascholars/. It would be a way for students to think outside the box about how to help the community, in a math related manner!
